This book picks up where “Bassbär” volume one left off, but can also be used independently. In volume one, students learned how to hold the bass and played (pizzicato) all the notes in half position using a number of well known songs. This volume introduces the bow (arco), several bowing techniques and all of the notes up to 3rd position. The song repertoire includes folk songs and popular tunes from Ireland, Scotland, France, (South) America and Israel, as well as easy melodies by E.Grieg, M. Mussorsky, P. I. Tschaikowsky and B. Smetana. Many of the pieces have lyrics and accompanying chords. The book features many fun bear images, making learning the double bass fun for students aged 6 to 10.

The accompanying CD includes play-a-long versions of the pieces, orchestrated with bass, guitar, violin and drums.
