Duke Kontrabässe have been developed with the Rockabilly bassist in mind. The body is laminated, but built like a fully-carved bass in that the top and the back are thicker in certain places and thin out towards the sides.

Due to this special laminating technique, the basses are very durable and have a great low end sound. All Duke basses are varnished (or oiled and waxed) by hand.

The components found on each bass are of excellent quality: ebony fingerboard, carbon end-pin, Wittner tailpiece, Rubner machine heads and a braided tailpiece cable. The basses are typically set up with Gut-A-Like Black strings for Rockabilly play. Other strings are of course available, as are custom paint jobs (available for surcharge).
