Due to this special laminating technique, the basses are very durable and have a great low end sound. All Duke basses are varnished (or oiled and waxed) by hand.
The components found on each bass are of excellent quality: ebony fingerboard, carbon end-pin, Wittner tailpiece, Rubner machine heads and a braided tailpiece cable. The basses are typically set up with Gut-A-Like Black strings for Rockabilly play. Other strings are of course available, as are custom paint jobs (available for surcharge).
The Peacemaker is Slap Strings' top model bass, a 7/8 size instrument that has been optimized for a more powerful, rich and potent sound than the Special or Two Tone are capable of.
