Gut-a-Like Double Bass Strings are synthetic strings "handmade in Germany". Unlike gut strings, they don't require any special care or treatment, but sound and can be played just like gut strings. With their warm and very bass like sound Gut-a-Like strings can be used for all music styles which require the use of gut strings or for bassists who prefer an especially warm sound. With their structured surface the feel of the strings imitates gut strings. The tension of the strings corresponds largely with gut strings, so that the playing of mixed sets is possible. An advantage for gut string players, who can therefore save themselves a more expensive gut replacement set. Another plus is the high tuning stability of Gut-a-Like strings. Once tuned up and played on, they keep the tune even at disadvantageous temperatures. Furthermore they don’t need any special treatment.
