The newest model made by Mastri was developed for bassists who find a regular size 3/4 to be too large but don't want to make do without the appearance and full sound volume. The shoulders are a little slimmer and the scale length of 101 cm a little shorter than our standard 3/4 basses. This makes the bass very comfortable to play with smaller hands.

Our 5/8 size basses are built from maple and spruce or poplar and spruce, for now only in gamba shape. As always, they are set up individually by our luthiers with the best parts (Rubner tuners, fingerboard, sound post, bridge, tailpiece, strings) available in Germany.
