The Grizzly is the clear favourite of all the Minibasses - over the past few years it has become the most requested of all our "Minibass Bears". The shape of this instrument goes back to a design by Mastri which combines a historical gamba form with that of the modern double bass form.

This Mini-Gamba is for all those who want to start with a traditional bass form on even their smallest double bass. As the name suggests, the fully carved Grizzly is a bass with fully carved top, back and sides. The flat back is made of maple and the carved top is spruce. Fine workmanship using quality tonewoods results in a convincing double bass sound.

The Grizzly Minibass is set up in our workshop and comes strung with Corelli Tungsten strings. For a surchage of € 50,00 we are happy to string the bass with Pirastro Flexocor strings - in this case please let us know before making your order.

Due to high student and customer demand the Grizzly is now also available as a laminated model with a flat back and rounded top. These instruments are also available here on the bassico.eu website.
